Friday October 17 2025 10AM (42.716,-89.447)
We headed to Albany to visit Reuben's Cave. We know the cave is in here, but the cave isn't mentioned in any signs.

Friday October 17 2025 11AM (42.722,-89.450)
After walking a few miles and not finding the cave it seems the trail no longer exist. Dave needs no trail. Elizabeth was not as happy about it.

Friday October 17 2025 11AM (42.722,-89.453)
When we found this little hole we thought we had found the cave. Not too impressive.

Friday October 17 2025 11AM (42.722,-89.453)
Elizabeth had mentioned something about snakes being in the cave. Look a garter snake! I guess she was right.

Friday October 17 2025 11AM (42.722,-89.453)
Finally we found the actual Reuben's Cave. Dave talked Elizabeth into coming in a little ways.

Friday October 17 2025 11AM (42.722,-89.453)
Then Elizabeth saw these snakes right above Dave's head and she noped out of there.

Friday October 17 2025 11AM (42.722,-89.453)
Reuben's Cave isn't all that big. You can walk in about a dozen feet. The story is a guy named Reuben lived there. That doesn't seem probable. The cave is literally feet away from the Sugar River.

Wednesday August 27 2025 12PM (42.785,-88.715)

Thursday August 28 2025 11AM (44.209,-87.512)
Apparently the deer at Point Beach State Forest aren't much bothered by tourists.

Thursday August 28 2025 3PM (44.930,-87.172)
This guy decided to go swimming and was barely able to pull himself out before hypothermia set in. He didn't have a lot of options because the big waves would have pummeled him against the rocks.

Thursday August 28 2025 3PM (44.929,-87.173)
Elizabeth keeps reminding David that she doesn't like heights. That is maybe a twenty foot drop down through that crack.

Thursday August 28 2025 6PM (44.866,-87.414)
Peninsula State Park's campsites were too full and rowdy, so we headed down to Potawatomi State Park to camp. Much quieter.

You are SO good at listening. David never listens to me. And you are so interesting, Malcolm! I could talk with you all day long. I don't need all those other big guys.

Friday August 15 2025 11AM (36.021,-91.979)
Why does Google Maps say it's going to take fourty minutes to drive twenty miles? Oh.

Friday August 15 2025 12PM (35.936,-92.122)
Elizabeth was not happy about going across this bridge. It's called the Swinging Bridge, but it disappointly did not actually swing.

Friday August 15 2025 6PM
We got to the conference early, so Dave dragged Elizabeth to the top floor of the hotel to look out the windows. It was not the hotel we were staying at.
